Smeeta S. Rishi concentrates her practice in the areas of general business and healthcare law. Mrs. Rishi has extensive experience with employment agreements, regulatory issues affecting business transactions in healthcare including federal and state fraud and abuse laws, medical group and facility purchases and sales, IPA and MSO formation and operations, managed care contracting, HIPAA compliance, surgery center development and operations, imaging joint ventures, and medical office and equipment leasing. Prior to joining Wade Goldstein, Mrs. Rishi practiced with Pacific West Law Group, a law firm representing healthcare providers, and Morgan, Miller & Blair, an East Bay mid-sized law firm representing a wide variety of general business and healthcare providers. Mrs. Rishi has been practicing for over twenty years in the Bay Area. 

 

Mrs. Rishi graduated with Honors from the Ohio State University College of Law where she was a member of the law review, and from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in Health Planning and Administration and a Minor in Economics.
 
Mrs. Rishi has authored a number of articles written for other lawyers. These include the following:

Mrs. Rishi has also held leadership positions in the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association, including Chairman of the Health Law Committee and liaison to the Special Committee on Bio-Ethics. Mrs. Rishi has also co-chaired and made presentations at numerous professional education programs. Mrs. Rishi has spoken at the annual meeting of the American Dermatology Association on compliance and managed care issues and to fellows at Stanford and UC San Francisco on employment agreements and partnership arrangements.
Mrs. Rishi is a current member of the American Health Lawyers Association and California Society of Healthcare Attorneys.
